    Danièle and Jean-Clément Aoué-Tchany met in the 1970s and married in the 1980s. Jean-Clément was a Camerounian who had come to study at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. Danièle was a Swiss School teacher who had lived in her native country all her life and worked in a small village, not far from the city of Lausanne. Between 1981 and 2000, Danièle and Jean-Clément Aoué-Tchany spent 4 years in Switzerland and 16 years in Cameroon. Noirs Blancs is a personal account of their lives. They have two children.
