Diaryatou Bah was born in 1985 in Guinea. Her father had 4 wives and 32 children. At a very early age, she was sent to live with her grandmother in a small village. Aged fourteen, she was married to a man who lived in Europe. She joined him there. There she was isolated and became a victim of domestic violence which resulted in the lost of two of her children. Eventually she decided to flee her home and took refuge in a hostel for the homeless. She is now (2006) studying nursing in France.
