This work tells of the difficulties encountered by a young woman who discovers that her daughter is suffering from a serious heart condition. The heroine, far from finding the comfort which she expects from her husband, or from the Mouride community to which she belongs, is faced with a wall of indifference and is then simply abandoned by them.
