Annick Laurence Assemian was born in Ecueillé, in France in 1952. She went to the School of Beaux Arts and attended different training courses on cartoons, puppets, silk-screen printing and micro publishing. From 1972 till now she has taken part in many exhibitions, in Africa and in Europe. She is currently (2002) writing and illustrating children's works, and teaches graphics and communication at the Ecole Supérieure of Beaux Arts in Abidjan. She also coordinates the school's review (2002), revue scientifique de l'INSAAC.
