    Amba Bongo was born in Kinshasa where she studied at Gombe'sl'Institut Supérieur Pédagogique. She also studied Psychology at the University of Warocqué, Mons, in Belgium. Since 1994 she has worked within the British legal system on behalf of refugees and asylum-seekers. She presently lives in London. (2000)

    Anna finds a job at the University of Kinshasa where she works as an academic adviser, but she is taken away by members of the state security service at whose hands she endures all manner of suffering, humiliation and torture before she ultimately becomes an exile in London.
