La grande dévoreuse [The Great Devouring City]. Abidjan: NEI, 1999 (136p.) Roman. ISBN: 2 84487 039 2
In the poor quarters of the African capital city of Abidjan, Sax and Amoin, two young people in deprived circumstances, set out to attain their dreams. The faith which drives them, the love which binds them, is enough for them to force open the doors to a world which had previously shut them out. The grim, intense writing of Boni-Claverie carries the reader from that which is most bitter to moments of poetic grace, from the erotic to the dramatic, from suspense to emotion. A powerful account which carries the outrage and the hopes of a generation. (From book cover)
