Bénédicte Brocher is a French psychologist. After graduating in the late 1990s, she worked for a year with the SAMU (French emergencies and medical support service) in France. She then moved to Bouaké, a small city in the centre of Ivory Coast and spent two years working for a local association helping people with HIV/AIDS. Je vous e-mail d'Afrique [I email you from Africa] is a compilation of the emails sent by Bénédicte to her sisters, from a cybercafe, during her sojourn in Bouaké. Back in France, she found employment as a psychologist in a centre for accommodation and social reinsertion.
