Cécile Ivelyse DIAMONEKA

    Cecile-Ivelyse Diamoneka was born in 1940 in Kinkala, the Congo. She went to secondary school in Ngouédi and then continued her education in Brazzaville. She subsequently attended the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Saint-Cloud. A teacher by profession, she has been headmistress of several teaching establishments. She has also been the Director of an extended training programme at the National Ministry of Education and Member of the National Council of the Congolese National Union of Writers, Artists and Artisans. She was (1991) Director of Spiritual and Religious Affairs at the Ministry for Culture. In April 2006, Mme Mikolo wrote : « Mrs Cécile-Ivelyse Diamoneka, a former Minister of Culture of the Republic of the Congo, has taken refuge in France following the 1997 war ».
