Laurence Gavron hails from France. She now lives in Dakar, Senegal, where she is a film director and a writer. Fascinated by African cultures, she has produced documentaries on local musicians, griots and on the work of the film director Djibril Diop Mambéty. She also writes regularly for the local newspapers and took part in several photo exhibitions. To date, Laurence Gavron is the author of three novels. (www.lemasque.com/)
