    Boundou Koné was born in Ferkessédougou, Ivory Coast. In 1965 she became a teacher with the Ministry of Public Primary Education. Later she became a School Principal, then in 1983, an advisor in teaching practice. Her work in children's education was recognised with the award of Chevalier de l'Ordre de l'Education Nationale shortly before her retirement. She dedicated her book "to all those children of the world who should enjoy the right to dream and have a little cheer in their lives." (Book cover)
