Chantal Magalie Mbazoo-Kassa is Gabonese. She first trained as a journalist in France at the Ecole Supérieure de Journalisme de Lille before completing a PhD in Paris on the representation of women in Gabonese literature. She now lives in Gabon where she teaches at the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Libreville (2004).
