    Justine Nankam, born in Bangangté in provincial Western Cameroon, is a graduate of the Center for Health Science in Yaoundé. A former teacher at the National School of Nursing, she was, at the time of publication of her novel (1985), the Principal Supervisor at the Central Hospital and Jamot Annexe in Yaoundé.
