Sirantou Fatoumata HAIDARA

    Sirantou Fatoumata Haïdara was born in Treichville, a busy suburb of Abidjan, the economic centre of Ivory Coast. She attended secondary school at the Adventist College in Gagnoa, in the central west of the country. After three years at the College she gained her Baccalauréat. Her passion for literature led to her enrolment in the Philosophy Department at the University of Bouaké, from where she was awarded a Bachelor of Philosophy Degree. "Toute une vie", Sirantou's first novel, was awarded Third Prize in the 1995 Literary Competition organised by the Abidjan-Biétry Rotary Club.
