Albertine UWAYISABA An author from Rwanda writing in French [Return to French Page originale en français] |
Albertine Uwayisaba hails from Rwanda. Aged 25, she is a Master's degree student
in the School of Health and Safety at a Paris university. " Apart
from my academic activities ", she says, "I obviously like to write stories:
but, sad to say, they have not yet been published. To relax, I play tennis,
practise yoga and go on outings with my friends. I have written this book,
Steve, the lost child, because I wanted to tackle the preconceptions
that a great many people have regarding education. In their minds,
poverty and delinquency are all too frequently linked: yet, it is no less
possible that a child raised in a comfortable environment, with the benefit
of a good education, will one day go off the rails and lead a wayward life.
