Brigitte Yengo was born in the Congo. She is a nun (1981) and is a member of the congregation of the Sisters of Notre-Dame of the Rosary. In 1979 she left Pointe Noire to study in Paris and then in Le Havre.
De l'Afrique noire à l'Europe: L'aventure d'une jeune religieuse noire [From Black Africa to Europe: The story of a young black nun]. Bruxelles: S.I.E.M., 1981. (102p.). Journal and reflexions.
The journey through society is inevitably a lonely one that each person either accepts, or endures, according to his or her human and spiritual strengths. In her testimony, the author, an immigrant and student, ponders over the meaning of hope and Africa's potential to assume its own identity in a responsible and united way." (Back cover).
