    Angèle Bassolé-Ouédraogo was born in Abidjan where she grew up. She later studied at the universities of Ouagadougou (MA), Ottawa (Doctorat en Lettres) and Montréal (Diplôme de Journalisme). She taught in Burkina Faso, her country of origin and currently lives in Canada where she is a Research Associate at the Institute of Women's Studies, University of Ottawa. (2007). Angèle Bassolé-Ouédraogo is the Managing Director of the Éditions Malaïka.
