    Ndèye Comba Mbengue Diakhaté was born in Rufisque. She was one of the first women teachers to graduate from the Ecole normale in Rufisque. "As a teacher particularly interested in the relationship between School and Family, she wanted to widen her role as an educator by combining the education of women with that of children so as to increase women's participation. This process can be seen in the actions of the Women's Association for Social Action where the women from Rufisque are involved in an avant-garde workshop" (page 4 of Daughters).
    Ndèye Comba Mbengue Diakhaté passed away on September 26, 2001.
