    Théreèse Zossou Essémè was born in 1952 in Mbanga, Cameroon. A former student at the High School of Manengoumba at Nkongsamba, she went on to study German Literature at the University of Abidjan and later at the Sorbonne in Paris. She presently teaches German, in Benin, at the French Education High School, EFE Montaigne, in Cotonou.
