Marie Claire Dati Sabze was born in Edéa in the Cameroon. She studied in the Arts Faculty of the Ecole normale supérieure in Yaoundé. She has also studied linguistics in England, Germany and the United States. Two of her poems are mentioned in the Anthology of Cameroonian Poetry written in French by Patrice Kayo (Yaoundé: Flambeau, 1978).
She has also been a successful actor with 'Les Perles noires' [The Black Pearls] company. In addition, she has worked as a translator-interpreter for the Cameroonian National Assembly.
