    Madeleine de Lallé was born in a small village in the Principality of Lallé (near Koudougou, 75 km west of Ouagadougou). Her real name is Madeleine KI KABORE. She graduated in Linguistics and became a Professor of Linguistics at the Teaching Institute of Burkina Faso where she has taught for the past twenty years. She is a strong supporter of children learning to read in their mothertongue and has initiated many bilingual programmes for Primary School in Burkina Faso.
