Elizabeth-Ewombè Moundo was born in Douala, Cameroun. She holds a postgraduate diploma (DEA) in clinical and experimental psychology, DEA in Educational Science (1981), a specialized postgraduate diploma (DESS) in clinical psychology (1982) from the University of Paris V Sorbonne and a State Doctorate in psychopathology and cultural and religious anthropology (1986) from the University of Rennes II.
From 1986 to 1990, Mrs. Elizabeth Moundo worked as a Research Assistant in cultural and religious anthropology at the University of Paris V and, concurrently, as a psychopathologist at Omar Bongo University in Liberville.
In 1991, Mrs. Moundo joined UNESCO as Chief Technical Adviser for Population Education (P-5) in Chad. In 1996, she opened the Kigali Office and performed duties as UNESCO Representative to Rwanda and Head of the Organisation's Office in Kigali for two years. She was then entrusted with the task of setting up the UNESCO Office in Conakry, where she served as Head of Office and UNESCO Representative to the Republic of Guinea from 1998 to 2002. From October 2002 to April 2003, Mrs. Moundo was acting Director of the Office of Bamako, Mali. In November, 2004, she was made Director of UNESCO cluster for Benin, Cote d'Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria and Togo, in Accra. Mrs. Elizabeth Moundo is also the author of many scientific publications.
